Who hasn't wished they were someone else at some point or another? Who hasn't tried to change themselves to fit in? Trying to find your place is a huge part of growing up and feeling comfortable in your own identity—but what would happen if all the angst, struggles, and growing pains were taken away? This campaign for a fictional product promises to do just that. In a satirical take on consumer culture, this project seeks to emulate the highly superficial and morally ambiguous principles capitalism relies on. Ultimately, through the creation of an ad that highlights corporate exploitation of teenage insecurities, I hope to emphasize the importance of staying true to yourself: all that negativity is just a money grab!
It was so fun making this video and creating a little dystopian world to go alongside it. Thank you to everyone who helped make the film, and to Adolescent for making it happen! Hope you all enjoy.
