"Tell me, black boy, where do you make your solace?"
Today's political climate seems to be targeting POC at an alarming rate. In all actuality, this type of "policing" has always occurred. POC have always been demonized, and it begins at childhood. In HOODED, we hear the very labels and stigmas black children grow up hearing about themselves, about their friends and family.
They grow up knowing they're a target, knowing society is working to end what they call a "problem," and knowing something as simple as wearing a hoodie and sweatpants can automatically make you a criminal in the eyes of the media and the law.
Or maybe it's just the color of our skin, since that's the common factor in all of this. Check out the film above.
